THE GOSPEL IS SIMPLE.

God is holy, that means He’s perfect. In fact, He’s so perfect, corruption cannot live with Him.

Isaiah 6:3, 1 John 1:5, 1 Peter 1:15-16, Matthew 5:48

On the other hand, we have rebelled against God and this corrupted us. For example, we are selfish, we are prideful, and we lie.

Romans 3:23, Mark 7:21, Ecclesiastes 7:20, Jeremiah 17:9

And this is our big problem: if God is perfect and corruption cannot live with Him, and we are corrupt... we cannot live with God. Our corruption has cut us off from God, both now AND when we die, which means we must spend eternity in a lake of fire called Hell.

But that is not what God wants. God loves you so much that He gave away His only Son to save you. Jesus Christ died on the cross in your place to pay the penalty for your corruption and rose again on the third day.

John 3:16-17, Romans 6:23, 1 Corinthians 15:3-6, 1 John 2:1-2

Now, Jesus Christ will forgive you of your corruption, reconcile you with God, and give you the life God has always intended for you if you will:

  1. Admit to Jesus Christ you are corrupt.
  2. Believe He is the Son of God who died on the cross to save you.
  3. Confess Jesus Christ as Lord (King) of your life.

If you just confessed Jesus Christ as Lord of your life, the next step is to find a local church to teach you how to personally know Christ more fully.

[1] And you were dead in the trespasses and sins [2] in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience—[3] among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the flesh and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. [4] But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, [5] even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved—[6] and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, [7] so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. [8] For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, [9] not a result of works, so that no one may boast. [10] For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. (ESV)
