About The Ceremony

Family Dedication is our way of partnering with parents as they seek to follow Jesus in the growth and discipleship of their children. This is one step of many in a family’s faith journey, and we want to celebrate this important moment with you!

Family Dedication is designed to be a memorable and meaningful experience where parents publicly commit to raising their children in a Christ-centered home. This ceremony is a beautiful opportunity for families to publicly surrender their hearts before the Lord and receive blessings, guidance, and support from our church family as they embark on this spiritual journey. The ceremony takes place during our Sunday morning services.

Family Dedication is a special ceremony where parents commit to raising their children in a Christ-centered home. It is a public declaration of your intent to nurture your child’s faith journey. Participating families are presented during the worship service in acknowledgment and support of their public commitment.

You’re in the right place! Family Dedication is the extension of Baby Dedication and will now be celebrated in its place. We understand that not everyone comes to know Jesus at the same time, and that new commitments are made every day. We want to honor, support, and encourage the public commitment of any family, with children of any age, to follow Jesus with their whole lives! Babies have been and always will be welcome. Our celebration is just getting bigger!

To participate, simply sign up through our online registration form. Once registered, you will receive further instructions and details about the ceremony. There is a mandatory meeting on Sunday, March 2 at 11 AM for all participating families.

All parents who: 

  1. Call First Rockwall their church home AND
  2. Have children currently living at home are welcome to participate, regardless of the child’s age. This includes newborns, infants, older children, and teenagers.

The Family Dedication Ceremony will be held on Sunday, October 27 at 9:30 AM and 11:00 AM in the worship center of First Baptist Church of Rockwall. Families can choose which service they would like to paricipate in.
